The hotel was built half a century ago in the style of a mansion and modernized and upgraded to standards ever since. At the time, the hotel was built by a chef who, during his rather rare spare time, was looking for truffles and he found them regularly in the grounds where the hotel is now located. The truffle also called black diamond can provide a good yield. Nowadays for a kilo of truffles you have to pay about a thousand euros…. With the money earned the chef built the hotel that he wanted. He first called it “The White Toque” but at the time of the construction of the terraces, a large amount of truffles was found and the construction plans were adapted. The hotel has become more beautiful and bigger, so due to the large harvest of truffles, the name was changed. Since that day, the hotel is called ‘ La Truffière ‘.
After the change of owner in 1999 we wanted to keep this name and after a extensive renovation the hotel took on the perspective we wanted, an inviting hotel-restaurant, comfortablewith an informal atmosphere where everyone is welcome to spend a pleasant moment.
